Summer 2012

Today is the last day of August. I feel that Autumn is just around the corner, although it's still hot everyday.

It's been an enjoyable summer this year!

8月も今日でおしまい。まだまだ暑い日が続いているけれど、秋ももうすぐだと感じます。

Beautiful ornaments at Sendai Tanabata Festival. Most of them are made by Japanese washi papers.

Onagawa bay. We were in a village near Onagawa where my mother comes from. It was the second time to visit there after the March tsunami 2011. When we came here last summer, loads of disaster debris were behind us, but now we saw nothing. Just the sun shining on the beautiful sea in front of us.  

震災後二度目の塚浜訪問。女川原発のすぐ近くです。去年来た時は瓦礫がたくさん残っていて、足の踏み場もないほどでしたが、今年はもうなにもなくなっており、雑草が生い茂って、あたかもかつて誰も住んだ事のない土地のようになっていました。でも目の前には美しい夏空と海。あの恐ろしい震災が起ったことが信じられないくらい。

仙台の定禅寺通り。この時期が一番きれい。
