pancakes

Last weekend I went back to my hometown again, and visited my favourite cafe on saturday afternoon, then had pancakes for lunch. Always love this simple pancakes served with butter & syrup. It's not that pancakes you get at one of those posh cafes but this simple taste makes me so comfortable. 

No one in the cafe during my stay, I enjoyed chatting to the owner about the films. Enjoyed relaxed afternoon :) 

先週末実家へ帰った際に、またいつもの喫茶店へ。ランチがまだだったので、ホットケーキも注文。とーっても美味しかった。バターとシロップ、素朴な味わいがかえって新鮮。形もまん丸ではないところが、いい感じ。

この日はたまたまお客さんが他に誰もいなくて、私1人でのんびりさせてもらいました。ママさんと映画の話をしたり、いい時間でした。またホットケーキ食べたくなってきたので、今週末は自分で作ろうかな。

It's nearly the end of January! Where all my time has gone? This winter seems to be milder than unusual but it is cold right now. How is your place?

I thought Japanese apples are the biggest in the world, but a friend of mine in the States said that Honeycrisp apples are big, too. Never heard of Honeycrisps - such a yummy name! As a big apple eater, I want to taste it one day. 

ご無沙汰しておりました。平々凡々な日々で取り立てて書くこともなく…ブログの行き先を考えてしまっておる中、まだ読みに来てくださっている、約5名の読者の皆さま…感謝でございます。イギリスに住んでいる友達が久々にブログアップしていたので、私も書いてみました(競ってる？笑

地元に帰った時、昔からあるお店でりんごが木箱に入れられて売られていました。こんな風に並べられているのなんて、まずみませんよね！まあ、私はこの木箱が欲しいな、なんてリンゴより外側に目線が行っておりましたが、、、

初めてイギリスに行った時、リンゴの小ささに驚きました。お弁当に一つ持って行って、食後に切らずとも食べられるサイズ。反対によその国から日本に来たら、リンゴのデカさに驚くのだろうな、と思いましたが。

アメリカに住んでいる友人が、honeycrispという大きなリンゴがアメリカにある、と教えてくれました。なんて美味しそうな名前！その名の通りクリスピーでジューシーだそうで…いつの日か食べてみたいものです。
